Maura Matthews is an experienced Democratic fundraiser and strategist who has worked for over 15 years to elect Democrats across the country. She has built national fundraising programs for many clients throughout her career including Senator Ron Wyden, Senator Maria Cantwell, Senator Max Baucus, Senator Cory Booker, DCCC Chairman Sean Patrick Maloney, Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester, and Representative Jake Auchincloss. Maura worked for Future Forward during the 2024 election as part of the record-breaking super PAC fundraising team. In 2020, she served as Governor Steve Bullock’s finance director for his presidential campaign and previously led the fundraising efforts for his leadership PAC in the lead up to the campaign.  She is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame. Maura and her family live in Washington, D.C.

Samantha (Sam) Peterson brings more than a decade of experience in digital fundraising, public affairs and online organizing to Blue Wave, where she serves as a Partner for all things digital. Prior to joining Blue Wave, Sam served as Vice President at a Democratic digital firm where she raised millions of dollars and built some of the most competitive Senate, House and state-wide digital programs in the country.

Sam also spent several years working in organized labor communications with the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations (AFL-CIO) and Service Employees International Union (SEIU). She is a proud Capitol Hill alumna and spent several years working for her home state Senator Dianne Feinstein (CA) in Washington, DC. She specializes in the design and execution of dynamic digital fundraising programs and has extensive experience in email marketing, online advertising, social media, mobile strategy, digital analytics and web design.
